Troy Savings Bank Music Hall

The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall invested in custom, hand-painted absorptive panels decades ago. The panels were chemically formed to fit in the legendary above-stage cove, below the organ, for use during amplified events. Years of use caused the panels to lose their form and the Music Hall was facing an expensive replacement. The Music Hall has a strong history of preservation and sought an appropriate solution. The armatures were designed by assessing the performance of the existing panels, carefully dimensioning the cove’s complex shape, then implementing a design that retained acoustic performance and minimal visual impact. The result is a retrofitted, water-jet cut armature that returns the panels to their intended shape.
